What the Bible says about Jesus

The True Light "In him, (the Lord Jesus) was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world,…the world didn’t recognize him." John 1:4,9.
The Good Seed and the Weeds The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seeds in his field. But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away. Matthew 13:24,25.

Mid-East Prophecy Update - Pr. J. D. Farag

I have to say, that the content of this video, the things Pastor Farag says in this video, represents a “catching up” on his part, to where I personally have already been, in my thinking, for quite some time.  I turned to my husband while the images of the world leaders were standing arm in arm in Paris and said that I have a feeling this is a specific beginning of that merging of government and religion which the antichrist will exploit to control the whole world.

He responded “we will be next” (in regard to the next terror attack).  The Lord has been doing in my own heart just what J.D. is saying here, frustrating me in the normal avenues and means of making a difference, from first any “activist” type measures, then even in the administration of this blog, at times, and even in prayer for this nation and for effective evangelization in our own area.  I’ve taken flack at times from folks who aren’t ready to concede the inevitability of America’s necessary demise or at least, a swallowing-up into something other than what we as a nation have historically been.   And yes, people who aren’t “there” yet, do get upset at that suggestion, and I realized that I couldn’t convince them, that God has to do that in them, the same way He did in me.

I believe J.D. was wise in being cautious and prayerful and even somewhat hesitant in saying some of these things, but for me, the fact that God led someone in Pastor Farag’s position, with the reach of his ministry, to say this, is frankly a relief for me, and I think it is significant.  Not because I place stock in a man.  Because I have cried and pled with the Lord on my face, I have wept and fasted, as no doubt, many Americans have, but when you have already been praying those kinds of prayers for many years, and you have seen that things continue to progress on a trajectory that you had hoped your prayers might turn, (and I do believe God’s heart can be moved by the sincere, fervent, unrelenting prayers of one or two), there comes the time that the Lord releases you from that task, the time you know your prayers have been heard and “registered” and the answer is determined, even if you have yet to see it.

Obama supports the cause that all of those world leaders were standing against in that powerful image of them standing arm in arm, united.  America’s fate is set, without any necessity of speculation on our part.  It’s not in the pages of prophecy. When and how that is accomplished, is the only question left unanswered, and one thing is for certain, in regards to the when, the wait to find out is getting shorter every day.  Still Christ’s instruction stands, “occupy until I come”. –S.T. The Day of the Lord - Hal Lindsey Report

This morning I was greatly encouraged  by this timely video. Here are the verses that remind us to keep our shield of FAITH up as the Holy Spirit who has poured the LOVE of God in our hearts and keeps refilling us so we can love him and others as an active manifestation and expression of our faith in action.

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you [a]like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as [b]others do, but let us be alert and [c]sober. For those who sleep do their sleeping at night, and those who get drunk get drunk at night. But since we are of the day, let us be [d]sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. 11 Therefore [e]encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:4-11 (NASB)
Faith and love go together in providing balance and stability to our hearts and mind in these hard times of trials and tribulation.

Another verse about the hope related to the love that God has for us comes to mind:

See [a]how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.  I John 3:1-3.

The HOPE of the resurrection of our bodies is a strong component of that faith: Peter expresses this hope in these terms:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various [a]trials, so that the [b]proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which [c]is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
I Peter 1:3-7

Pr. J.D Farag Prophecy Update

Notes from Pr. Farag

Mid-East Prophecy Update – April 27th, 2014
- For today’s prophecy update I would like to talk about the prophetic significance of some recent and major developments concerning Israel.

- It seems in the last several weeks, especially this last week with it being Resurrection Sunday, much has happened as it relates to Israel.

- I’ll start with last Thursday, April 24th, and sort of work backwards to provide an update on what’s happened, then I’ll explain what it means.

I’ll draw your attention to this BBC headline, “Hamas and Fatah unveil Palestinian reconciliation deal.” “Rival Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas have announced a reconciliation … Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier said Mr Abbas would have to choose between peace with Israel and peace with Hamas. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-27128902

Wednesday, April 23rd, The Balfour Post ran an article titled, “Jerusalem is not up for grabs.” “US Secretary of State John Kerry has blamed the sudden deadlock in peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority on Israel’s plans to build additional apartments in a southern Jerusalem neighborhood... http://balfourpost.com/jerusalem-is-not-up-for-grabs/

Wednesday, April 16th, The Jerusalem Post reported on a Temple Mount riot in Jerusalem in which hundreds of Palestinians clashed with police. “Amid heightened tensions between Palestinians and Israelis as peace talks falter, … violence erupted Wednesday morning as soon as police opened the gate to the Temple Mount to visitors gathered from around the globe. … Following Wednesday’s riot – the third of its kind in less than two weeks – thousands of Jews from across the country and from abroad congregated at the nearby Western Wall to observe Passover.” http://www.jpost.com/National-News/Temple-Mount-riot-in-Jerusalem-Two-police-officers-lightly-injured-348620

Then there was this USA Today article titled, “Leaflet tells Jews to register in East Ukraine.” Here’s what they had to say, “Jews were handed leaflets that ordered the city's Jews to provide a list of property they own and pay a registration fee "or else have their citizenship
revoked, face deportation and see their assets confiscated…" Another news agency reported on it this way, “Concerns have been raised after a leaflet reminiscent of Nazi Germany was distributed in Donetsk demanding that Jews over 16 should register with the authorities.” http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/04/17/jews-ordered-to-register-in-east-ukraine/7816951/

- Be that as it may, let’s now turn a corner and take a look at what all of this means in terms of it’s prophetic significance related to scripture.
- While I realize this is fast becoming a firm grasp of the obvious, the entire world is against this little country of Israel reborn in May of 1948.
- In a sense, this is the quintessential battle between the giant Goliath of the entire world and the little David of Israel and that’s a good thing.
- The reason I say that is because the eerily similar parallels, which we’ve actually been studying in-depth Thursday nights, in 1 Samuel 17.
- Just as David, against all odds, was miraculously victorious over Goliath, Jesus, our greater than David, will be victorious over the enemy.
- And, this is evidenced in how David is a type of Christ, which is what I would like to briefly share with you in closing, if you wouldn’t mind.
